At dawn this morning concrete started to be placed in the carefully prepared ground floor slab area. The concrete was actually pumped through a 32 m boom that enabled it to be precisely placed.
The concrete mixer truck empties into the back of the concrete pump which then pushes it up through the pipework. The concrete has special additives to make it easier to pump.
Once placed and the level checked, the surface is trowel finished. Good weather is important for this operation and today we have been truly lucky.
